John Galvin

John is a 26 year old Irish American native hailing from Brighton, Massachusetts. He spent his summers living with family members in the town of Falmouth, MA, working as a mate on a variety of different sportfishing charter boats during his teenage years. John also worked for eight years at Eastman's Tackle in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and is highly skilled in tackle rigging and maintenance.
John earned a bachelor degree at Salve Regina University in 2005. Like the other two Castafari mates, John earned his USCG captain's license, and has several years of part time captaining experience to compliment his full-time position as a Castafari mate.
John's relentless pursuit of offshore fishing landed him a first mate's position on the vessels Kerrinelli and Majic Lady, and this is where he lives when he is not fishing on the Castafari. On these vessels John has been lucky enough to have fished world wide. His latest adventures took him to South America and the Bahamas. John recently helped gain the Kerrinelli top honors for catching the biggest tuna (685 pounds) and taking first place in the Hyannis Anglers Tuna Tournament in 2008. He also helped earn the Kerrinelli a first place win in the 2007 Nantucket Big Game Battle.
John will be joining the crew of the Castafari lineup again in 2009, and it goes without saying, we're lucky to have him! Luck of the Irish is the ongoing theme in the Castafari cockpit these days, and I aim to keep it that way.
